A Planetary Invitation to Reimagine Peace
PRESS RELEASE
Global Youth Call Deadline Extended to World Creativity and Innovation Day
Berlin, 20 March 2026. On the March Equinox—a moment of planetary balance shared across North and South, marking spring in the Northern Hemisphere and autumn in the Southern—the Alliance for Youth-Led Futures (AYLF) announces the final call for its global creative initiative:
“What does peace mean to you?”
The submission deadline has been extended to 15 April 2026, aligning with the World Creativity and Innovation Day, underscoring the role of imagination as a driver for peace, health, and systemic transformation.
Young people under 30 worldwide are invited to submit works in art, film, music, storytelling, or any creative medium. At a time of escalating conflict, climate disruption, and global health challenges, the call positions youth creativity not as expression alone—but as a pathway to actionable futures.
“This is not just about art—it is about agency,” says Prof. Nicole Loeser, one of the co-founders of the alliance. “Young people are not waiting for change; they are already designing it.”
From 6–10 April, during Global Public Health Week, AYLF and its partners will host five online youth-led sessions exploring peace, resilience, and wellbeing—from mental health to responsible AI. These sessions will generate concrete outputs, including youth insights, opportunity maps, and proposals for policy and action.
The initiative will culminate at COP31 in Antalya, Turkey (9–20 November 2026), where over 100 invited young people will take part in a 10-day co-creation lab. Selected artistic contributions will serve as catalysts for daily Feel–Think–Act sessions, leading to funded micro-projects addressing real-world challenges—from community-based wellbeing initiatives to climate resilience prototypes.
Backed by a growing alliance of more than 35 global partners across health, climate, youth engagement, and innovation—including WHO-affiliated initiatives, civil society organizations, and creative networks—the Global Youth Call represents a new model: connecting imagination with implementation.
