Award 2021

Welcome to the Social Art Award 2021 – Online Gallery!

We are grateful for the many inspiring contributions from artists around the world. The selected works reflect a broad spectrum of contemporary social art practices and explore new relationships between humans, nature, and technology. They address themes such as ecological regeneration, climate justice, sustainable futures, social resilience, and more-than-human perspectives.

Below you will find the submissions from the Social Art Award 2021 – New Greening edition that passed the initial jury round. The Online Gallery offers public visibility to these works and encourages dialogue around their ideas and approaches; it does not replace the final jury decision.

Thank you to all artists for sharing your visionary and committed work. We invite you to explore the gallery and engage with the perspectives shaping New Greening.

Title:
Discovering each other - I

Author:
Harshit joshi

Description:
Title - Discovering each other - I Medium & Size - Variable Year - 2020 This is an installation from my ongoing Artistic research project “Mutation”. I have been working on this diverse media based project for the last 2 years. This is about discovering environmental thoughts and vision regarding coordination. How so called civilization choose dead roots to nourish artificial sensitivity of modern communities towards environmental issues. Dry and rigid heads are incapable to make a coordination with the Mother Nature. Dryness and rigidness is gained from the capitalistic mindset trying to divert much aware and freshly sprouted thoughts towards a narrow end. But they can't beat them, finally in the end only sprouted green thoughts will lead the community. This work is about silent but vibrant war of thoughts, Sprouted green heads are growing and discovering each other among rigid dry rooted heads. Here dry rigid heads are sign of incapability regarding coordination and green sprouted heads are sign of revolution towards changing ourselves. This is change will bury all the imperialistic thoughts and sickness of lack of coordination. Green rooted heads are true and relevant vision for mankind.
