Award 2021

Welcome to the Social Art Award 2021 – Online Gallery!

We are grateful for the many inspiring contributions from artists around the world. The selected works reflect a broad spectrum of contemporary social art practices and explore new relationships between humans, nature, and technology. They address themes such as ecological regeneration, climate justice, sustainable futures, social resilience, and more-than-human perspectives.

Below you will find the submissions from the Social Art Award 2021 – New Greening edition that passed the initial jury round. The Online Gallery offers public visibility to these works and encourages dialogue around their ideas and approaches; it does not replace the final jury decision.

Thank you to all artists for sharing your visionary and committed work. We invite you to explore the gallery and engage with the perspectives shaping New Greening.

Title:
La tormenta y el rayo verde - curvisme 106

Author:
RICHARD MARTIN

Description:
©The storm - The green ray - curvism Acrylic - 100cm x 150cm The work deals with a very personal critical moment and difficult to express with words. There is an attempt to fight. To get out of the psychic storm. We have to move forward. The composition is based on three parts. The sea represents the past. The effort to combat the surge of feelings, memories and nostalgia. Suffering is symbolized by the red drop and the cross. In between is the present. Where the sailor's hope goes in the right direction by following the green ray. The concept of the ray or green ray was popularized by Jules Verne, who describes his color as & # 034; [...] If there is a green to Paradise, it cannot be saved from this tonality, which is certainly true green of Hope! & # 034; The sky represents the future that is always in constant motion.
