Award 2021

Welcome to the Social Art Award 2021 – Online Gallery!

We are grateful for the many inspiring contributions from artists around the world. The selected works reflect a broad spectrum of contemporary social art practices and explore new relationships between humans, nature, and technology. They address themes such as ecological regeneration, climate justice, sustainable futures, social resilience, and more-than-human perspectives.

Below you will find the submissions from the Social Art Award 2021 – New Greening edition that passed the initial jury round. The Online Gallery offers public visibility to these works and encourages dialogue around their ideas and approaches; it does not replace the final jury decision.

Thank you to all artists for sharing your visionary and committed work. We invite you to explore the gallery and engage with the perspectives shaping New Greening.

Title:
Flowerbed project

Author:
Sveta Nosova

Description:
Flowerbed project Anyone can do it. Basically, all human actions destroy nature, not create it. To save forests and wild animals requires a lot of money and the work of a large number of specialists. What can one small man do for nature, especially now, when the helplessness of man and mankind is so strongly felt. Contemporary art speaks openly about many important problems, but does not offer a way out and solution. What is art supposed to do? In my opinion, one of the tasks of art is to inspire people to build up. I invite everyone to take very simple actions and experience the joy of what was created, really made for nature. So, here is the algorithm of action. 1. To come up with and draw a sketch of a flower bed. (Then you can hang the drawing on the wall) 2. Buy flower seedlings 3. Plant and water 4. Admire
