Title:
City Reimagined

Author:
Nancy D Lane

Description:
I found all the materials to create this cityscape in builders' skips or on the streets. The work envisions a city where rebuilding doesn't require demolition, landfill, then starting anew, but rather reclaiming and reusing materials. To reach a large audience, I exhibit my works in public places such as libraries, train stations and community centres, and my works are promoted by Clean Up Australia, Painted Turtle Galleries (sustainable art), and The Reimaginarium (reclaimed materials). The message in all my artworks is the 5Rs: Refuse, reduce, reuse, repurpose, recycle. It would take more effort, but our cities, too, could be reclaimed and reimagined with political will.
