Welcome to the Social Art Award 2025 – Online Gallery!
We are grateful for the many powerful contributions from artists across the globe. The selected works reflect the diversity of contemporary social art practices and address urgent issues such as climate and water crises, social and economic inequality, migration, conflict, discrimination, and the protection of human and more-than-human life.
Below you will find the submissions from the edition of 2024/2025 that passed the initial jury round. The Online Gallery offers public visibility to these works and supports dialogue around their themes; it does not replace the final jury decision.
Thank you to all artists for sharing your inspiring and committed work. We invite you to explore the gallery and engage with the perspectives shaping the Social Art Award 2025.
Temps Futurs
Camila Bernardo
Temps Futurs reflects on humanity’s evolving relationship with nature, envisioning a future where nature is revered and preserved rather than exploited. The painting depicts a pair of realistic sculptures of hands, painted with acrylic and oils, gently cradling a small, lifelike plastic tree. Positioned in front of an old, worn book titled Temps Futurs (Future Times), this imagery symbolizes the fragile balance between human care and nature’s vulnerability, urging reflection on our current environmental trajectory and the urgent need for change. The title Temps Futurs emphasizes the consequences of continuing down our current path. The juxtaposition of the small tree in human hands represents an inversion of roles: humanity, once the destroyer of ecosystems, is now the caretaker of what remains. The delicate nature of the tree and the careful hold of the hands symbolize our collective responsibility, urging us to reconsider how we engage with the planet before it’s too late. Ultimately, Temps Futurs is a call to action—a reminder that the future is in our hands. It urges us to shape a legacy of responsibility, where nature is no longer exploited but nurtured for future generations.
