Welcome to the Social Art Award 2025 – Online Gallery!

We are grateful for the many powerful contributions from artists across the globe. The selected works reflect the diversity of contemporary social art practices and address urgent issues such as climate and water crises, social and economic inequality, migration, conflict, discrimination, and the protection of human and more-than-human life.

Below you will find the submissions from the edition of 2024/2025 that passed the initial jury round. The Online Gallery offers public visibility to these works and supports dialogue around their themes; it does not replace the final jury decision.

Thank you to all artists for sharing your inspiring and committed work. We invite you to explore the gallery and engage with the perspectives shaping the Social Art Award 2025.

Title:
Fragile Hope

Author:
gouri biswas

Description:
This canvas reinterprets resilience through the lens of ocean restoration, biodiversity protection, and the interconnectedness of all life. The multi-layered composition features female figures enclosed in symbolic bubbles, representing both isolation and the delicate ecosystems of our planet. These spheres mirror the fragile marine environments threatened by climate change and human activity. The bold colors and abstract forms reflect the emotional urgency of conservation, while fragmented backgrounds suggest the instability of our natural world. The woman in the lower right, with her intense gaze, embodies the enduring hope for renewal, much like the ocean’s ability to heal if given the chance. Contrasting colors highlight the delicate balance between destruction and restoration, urging us to take responsibility for preserving biodiversity. Fragile Hope is a call to action, reminding us that protecting nature is essential for the survival of all species, including our own.
