Welcome to the Social Art Award 2025 – Online Gallery!

We are grateful for the many powerful contributions from artists across the globe. The selected works reflect the diversity of contemporary social art practices and address urgent issues such as climate and water crises, social and economic inequality, migration, conflict, discrimination, and the protection of human and more-than-human life.

Below you will find the submissions from the edition of 2024/2025 that passed the initial jury round. The Online Gallery offers public visibility to these works and supports dialogue around their themes; it does not replace the final jury decision.

Thank you to all artists for sharing your inspiring and committed work. We invite you to explore the gallery and engage with the perspectives shaping the Social Art Award 2025.

Title:
The Blue Around Us – Le Grand Bleu (2024) Medium...

Author:
Valentin Bakardjiev

Description:
At the center of The Blue Around Us lies an absence—an empty circle that draws the viewer in. This missing core creates an unexpected tension: why is there nothing in the center? The artwork, immersed in deep blue tones and divided by a horizon, symbolizes the ocean and sky—elements that unite us beyond borders. Yet, the void at its heart asks us to step into the emptiness, to recognize our presence within the vast ecosystem that surrounds us. We often forget that we are part of this equation—that we must look around, acknowledge our impact, and act to protect our fragile blue planet. Through layered indigo-dyed paper and the ancient Shibori technique, this work invites introspection and a shift in awareness.
