Garden Hermits is a live audiovisual performance that fuses experimental music, immersive visuals, and scientific exploration. The music reacts to real-time footage captured by an on-stage microscope, revealing a stunning microcosm of microorganisms. Interactive visuals guide the narrative, while spatial surround sound envelops the audience in a fully immersive sonic experience. Organic samples—collected from the venue’s surroundings, often by the audience— include fragments of leaves, insects, and water droplets. These close-ups transform into a surreal, alien landscape where nature’s microscopic world becomes a stage for abstract storytelling. This synaesthetic journey transcends traditional performances, exploring the symbiotic relationships and ecological harmony of microscopic organisms, from the atomic level to a much broader perspective.
