Welcome to the Social Art Award 2025 – Online Gallery!

We are grateful for the many powerful contributions from artists across the globe. The selected works reflect the diversity of contemporary social art practices and address urgent issues such as climate and water crises, social and economic inequality, migration, conflict, discrimination, and the protection of human and more-than-human life.

Below you will find the submissions from the edition of 2024/2025 that passed the initial jury round. The Online Gallery offers public visibility to these works and supports dialogue around their themes; it does not replace the final jury decision.

Thank you to all artists for sharing your inspiring and committed work. We invite you to explore the gallery and engage with the perspectives shaping the Social Art Award 2025.

Title:
Balancing Act

Author:
Bettina Silverio

Description:
We are at a precarious moment in our planet’s history, the Anthropocene, and these next few years are crucial and essential in determining our planet’s fate. Our ecosystem hangs on a delicate balance, Mother Earth is in danger. Our oceans are fast heating up, deforestation and wild fires threaten our green spaces, air pollution is at a high… These threaten biodiversity and put our flora and fauna at risk. Our natural home is being pushed to the brink, fast. What can we do to restore the balance and strengthen and rejuvenate our lands and waters? “Balancing Act” is a physical manifestation of this delicate balance and of this precarious moment in our history. It is a reflection of the tipping point we are in, as well as a reflection of how delicate our ecosystem is: everything is interconnected. And so, hurting one point of our system will undoubtedly cause a ripple effect that will spread throughout, causing harm to ALL. We are all dependent on each other.
