Award 2021

Welcome to the Social Art Award 2021 – Online Gallery!

We are grateful for the many inspiring contributions from artists around the world. The selected works reflect a broad spectrum of contemporary social art practices and explore new relationships between humans, nature, and technology. They address themes such as ecological regeneration, climate justice, sustainable futures, social resilience, and more-than-human perspectives.

Below you will find the submissions from the Social Art Award 2021 – New Greening edition that passed the initial jury round. The Online Gallery offers public visibility to these works and encourages dialogue around their ideas and approaches; it does not replace the final jury decision.

Thank you to all artists for sharing your visionary and committed work. We invite you to explore the gallery and engage with the perspectives shaping New Greening.

Title:
I want more green

Author:
Inna Perkas

Description:
I am a professional artist from Cottbus - a city in between of some large coal mining areas - that's why the desire for new greening has continuously been growing up in me during the past. On the basis of all the thoughts, meanings and feelings about this controversial topic the work "I want more green" was created already in 2019 and is still very relevant for myself and for the environment. But art is not my only college degree. Some decades ago I graduated summa cum laude from my study of biology and microbiology at the State University in Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine. Work 758: „I want more green“. Ten-pieces-work; pieces 1 – 9: each 60 x 30 cm, piece 10: 30 x 21 cm; Acrylic colours, oil pens on the OSB panels, 12. - 21.04.2019
