Award 2021

Welcome to the Social Art Award 2021 – Online Gallery!

We are grateful for the many inspiring contributions from artists around the world. The selected works reflect a broad spectrum of contemporary social art practices and explore new relationships between humans, nature, and technology. They address themes such as ecological regeneration, climate justice, sustainable futures, social resilience, and more-than-human perspectives.

Below you will find the submissions from the Social Art Award 2021 – New Greening edition that passed the initial jury round. The Online Gallery offers public visibility to these works and encourages dialogue around their ideas and approaches; it does not replace the final jury decision.

Thank you to all artists for sharing your visionary and committed work. We invite you to explore the gallery and engage with the perspectives shaping New Greening.

Author:
Heiner Benking

Description:
Franz Marc once said that images are “arriving at another place”. Moving images and films help us immerse into stories, scenarios, and narratives. Additional Compositions and architecture are needed. Composite model spaces which allow us to negotiate realities and options for futures. The art and exhibition object www.benking.de/cube with color graphics is a build extensional/immersive 3D model. It is the center-piece of a “Cognitive Panorama” that brings multi-modal, multi-media use into a relation in 1) extensional objects and issues in geographic world-space, with 2) virtual and augmented context spaces and 3) extensional semantic spaces in terminology repositories and sorted sign-system switching systems. For more see the 2020 Falling Walls competition Science in the Arts finalist video: Breaking the Walls between Mindsets and Paradigms. www.youtube.com/watch?v=BODn3G-fJFI&t=5s Co-producing artists: CHARLES WOODWARD, PANU REKOLA, deskartes
