Drifting Poetry
Ziyao Lin
Drifting Poetry explores the delicate balance between marine ecosystems and human existence through sculptural installations. Inspired by the drifting nature of plankton, this work translates microscopic ocean life into tangible 3D models. Using AI-generated forms derived from scientific imagery, the installation highlights the unseen yet essential role of plankton in sustaining marine biodiversity. Through dynamic compositions of floating structures and light-based interactions, the piece invites viewers to contemplate the fragility and resilience of oceanic life. By engaging with these organic forms, audiences are encouraged to reflect on humanity’s interconnectedness with marine ecosystems.
