Announcing the Social Art Award 2025 Jury: Recognizing Excellence in Social Art for Planetary Healing
The Social Art Award 2025 is dedicated to the theme “Planetary Healing – Blue Tribes for Ocean Health.” This year, we are honored to welcome an exceptional jury panel of thought leaders, innovators, and changemakers spanning the fields of art, science, social impact, and sustainability. Together, they will select the most impactful social art projects, recognizing those that creatively address environmental and social challenges while fostering regenerative solutions.
A Global Jury with a Shared Vision
This year’s jury consists of distinguished experts from diverse backgrounds, each bringing unique expertise and perspectives to the selection process. Their combined knowledge ensures a rigorous evaluation, merging qualitative and quantitative criteria to uphold the highest standards of social art practice. The jury will identify:
- 1–3 final winners
- Up to 100 artists whose works will be featured in the official Social Art Award book
- Exceptional projects that will be highlighted for their innovative contributions to the field

Dr. Jennifer Halton (Australia) is the Director of Internationalisation at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts at Edith Cowan University. She holds a PhD in Cultural Musicology and leads research on the intersection of art, innovation, and social transformation.
Bonface Beti (Kenya) is a multidisciplinary artist and peacebuilder, merging indigenous African storytelling, participatory theater, and healing-centered approaches to foster social transformation. He founded Mama Afrika Theatre Lab for Peace and Imaginable Futures.
Ifigeneia Giannoukakou-Leontsini (Spain/Greece) is an oceanographer and creative researcher at ICM-CSIC, specializing in participatory art-science facilitation and ocean literacy.
Dr. R.M. Sánchez-Camus (US/UK) is the Director at Applied Live Art Studio (UK) researching and practicing participatory governance and cultural democracy.
Eulalia Domanowska (Poland) is a curator, art critic, and director of the State Art Gallery in Sopot, Poland. She has curated over 100 exhibitions, focusing on the role of contemporary art in public space and environmental discourse.
Dr. Derek Woodgate (UAE) is a futurist and educator specializing in experimental futures and multimedia-driven foresight. He has consulted for over 170 corporations and institutions worldwide.
Dr. Brigitte Mohn (Germany) is a sustainability advocate and a board member at Bertelsmann Stiftung, where she champions social entrepreneurship, community-driven development, and digital transformation.
Fran Erazo (Mexico) is the co-founder of Culturans, a Mexico City-based NGO that leverages art and social innovation to build sustainable cities and futures rooted in humanity.
Huijun Zhang (China) is an environmental communicator and policy strategist, working across sectors to amplify climate change awareness and cross-cultural dialogue through art and media.
Gerrit Jan van’t Veen (Netherlands) is a mentor, strategist, and curator of impactful initiatives, leading efforts to connect artists, collectives, and changemakers for transformative collaborations.
Jan Hurwitch (Costa Rica) is an expert in ethical leadership and community-driven development, dedicated to fostering sustainability and social equity across Latin America and the Caribbean.
Maggie Greyson (Canada) is a globally recognized futurist and designer. As CEO of Futures Present, she helps organizations and individuals embrace complexity and co-create transformative solutions.
Johan van den Berg (South Africa) is a climate and energy transition expert who has worked extensively in international policy and finance to drive just and regenerative environmental futures.
Nicole Loeser (Germany) is the Board Director at the Institute for Art and Innovation and an expert in inter- and transdisciplinary collaboration. She has led multiple global initiatives focused on ocean health, sustainability, and social transformation through the arts.
