Open Call for the Social Art Award 2019 is closed!

The Open Call for the Social Art Award 2019 under the topic “We are the People – Peaceful Revolutions” was closed on December 15. We are very impressed by 558 submissions that were contributed from artists coming from 65 countries from across all continents.

The international jury selected 230 entries for the PUBLIC VOTING running from December 20 – 28.

Until December 29 they will come out with the decision after selecting the Top 10. Then, based on the highest votes by the public, two wildcards will be enabled for the last jury round. The final winner/s will be announced on December 31.

Now have a look at all the contributions and invite your friends to vote for your favorite artwork!

The focus diversity of applications shows that artists are active in the multi-facetted fields of socially engaged art reflecting on wars, genocides, femicides, traumata, violence against refugees, children, women, men, disabled people, LGBTIQs, animals. They have deep feelings for the planet, living beings, but also showing hopelessness due to complex crises be it climate change (e.g. in regard to water pollution), capitalism, corruption, violation against human rights, nature, protected national parks. Many of the artists are trying to give a voice to the poorest or empower unheard social groups.

It’s not only about peaceful revolutions, it’s about feeling a deep connection and showing love and respect for each other. Thank you all for sharing your great and inspirational work!

We wish you all peaceful holidays!

Warmest wishes from the team of the Social Art Award
