Selected Works from the Social Art Award 2025 to Be Featured at Syntezia Open
A Celebration of Art for Ocean Health and Systemic Change
We are thrilled to announce that selected artworks from the Social Art Award 2025 under the theme “Planetary Healing – Blue Tribes for Ocean Health” will be showcased at Syntezia Open on June 10, 2025, in Geneva, Switzerland. This event will feature a special virtual exhibition, titled “Art for Systemic Change – Oceans in Sight,” taking place in the frame of the European Maritime Day Geneva and runs in parallel with the UN Ocean Conference in Nice.
As part of our ongoing mission to promote socially engaged art as a catalyst for transformation, we are grateful to partner with Syntezia, an organization dedicated to fostering dialogue at the intersection of policy, innovation, and environmental action.
Curated by Syntezia and the Institute for Art and Innovation (IFAI), the featured works reflect urgent and inspiring artistic responses to ocean-related challenges—calling on public imagination and civic engagement to support the goals of the UN Ocean Decade. The exhibition demonstrates how art can activate new perspectives, foster hope, and drive collective action for the protection and regeneration of our oceans.
Syntezia Open is an annual event organized by Yves Zieba, founder of Syntezia Sàrl, and is dedicated to fostering dialogue and action on critical environmental issues. This year’s focus emphasizes a strong commitment to water and ocean protection, advocating for sustainable practices that preserve our vital waterways and marine ecosystems.
Participants can engage in discussions aimed at enhancing coastal protection, promoting marine biodiversity, and exploring innovative solutions for blue job creation. By bringing together artists, futurists, scientists, inventors, experts, policymakers, and community leaders, Syntezia Open seeks to inspire collaborative efforts that contribute to a healthier ocean and resilient coastal communities, ensuring a sustainable future for generations to come.
Alongside the exhibition, Nicole Loeser, Director of IFAI Berlin and initiator of pioneering art-science-innovation initiatives, will present key projects, including:
- Ocean Future Lab / Ocean Future School Lab – Co-creating future scenarios for sustainable ocean use
- Art for Futures Lab – Merging foresight with creativity to imagine regenerative futures
- Sustainable Coastal Futures – Linking green energy with citizen participation
- The Universal Sea – A cultural movement across Europe tackling marine pollution
These projects, like the Social Art Award, are part of official UN Ocean Decade actions and illustrate how transdisciplinary artistic practices can powerfully contribute to ocean literacy, systemic change, and ecological resilience.
Join us at Syntezia Open to experience how art moves hearts and minds—and helps shape a better future for our blue planet.
